This is a non-shooting course that teaches the basic knowledge, skills, necessary attitude for the safe handling, storage of firearms and ammunition in the home. This course deals with storing and caring of firearms in the home.
There is an emphasis on children and learning gun safety. The main cause of firearms related accidents in the home can be traced to improper handling or lack of education about firearms. This course of instruction, while not designed to teach the student marksmanship or accuracy, will teach the student what to do should they encounter an unattended firearm.

Students are taught the three rules for safe gun handling: primary causes of firearms accidents, firearm parts, how to unload certain action types, ammunition components, cleaning, care, safe storage of firearms in the home.
Make 2023 the last year you did nothing to increase your firearms knowledge, or gain new experience with guns.
Start fresh in 2024 learning how to SAFELY handle various different types of firearms, such as revolver, semi-atuomatic, shotgun, rifle, etc.
This is a 4-hour course on safe gun handling that is conducted in the classroom only. Students are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents, firearm parts, how to unload certain action types, ammunition components; cleaning, care; safe storage of firearms in the home, and the benefits of becoming an active participant in shooting sports. Students receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, a course completion certificate. Students learn the basic fundamentals of semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, rifles and shotguns, how to safely load and unload them.
This class provides firearms instructions, there is no live fire or range shooting.
